For Blog #10 I read the wikipedia page on viral marketing. Viral Marketing is a strategy that most businesses usually use in order to promote their product. Viral marketing is intended to reach out to a very broad audience in order to get the most attention for the product. The more people that view the ad means the more likely you will have more customers for the product. Viral marketing goes hand to hand with project three because for project three the goal is the promote and market your chosen community, which in this case is your product. For project three I am going to want my presentation/ad very organized and nicely designed in order to get the best and most attention. After reading this wikipedia article I now have an idea of certain methods and metrics that I can use when marketing my product for example to make the message memorable and interesting in order to make it most appealing to the audience and to continuously hold their attention. You can also find sponsors or other big or “popular’ companies that can help promote your product. All this information will be useful for project 3 in order to make my ad most appealing in order to raise the most awareness for the athletic training community.

As we are closing in on the end of ENC 2135 my class and I have to start having our final portfolios ready to turn in and present. After reviewing some of the previous portfolios from past classes I have a better understanding of what I can do to make mine as best as possible. One of the first things I noticed from a lot of the portfolios that stood out was how personalized it was. Students would each decorize and design their blogs in their own way all while relating to their topic. This allows for the blogs to get more interest on the topic of discussion. Another factor I saw that I should definitely implement into my portfolio was how organized the blogs where. Mostly all of the students portfolios were organized excellently, all te posts where in the right order in the right category. THis helped make things easier to find and made the overall blogs look more formal. By reviewing some of the previous projects I hope I can implement some of the factors I saw on the good projects into my own projects to help mine stand out effectively.

In Chapter 15, "Assembling a Multi-genre Project," of the Bedford Book of Genres the textbook discusses the creation and use of multi-genre presentations. This chapter directs the reader on how to properly integrate the presentation to make it as efficient and effective as possible. The chapter teaches a variety of techniques to better interact with one’s audience. Examples include using rhetorical appeals, attaching media, reaching your audience, and relating back to your purpose. This chapter also teaches one how to correctly assemble a multi-genre project by guiding the reader through steps and showing other examples as a sample model. With the help of chapter 15 I am now more prepared to create a more effective pitch. For my project I plan to target an audience who is interested in either health, nutrition, and fitness, or all the above. Next I will continue to keep the audience’s attention. To keep their attention, I will include interactive texts to keep the audience engaged. I can successfully do this through some of the tips and skills the chapter taught me, for example use rhetorical devices or attaching interactive media/texts.
